CPR
How to perform CPR
First you must go through the DRSABCD method until you reach CPR. At this stage you must start performing CPR on the victim. 1. Place one hand on the breast bone in the middle of their chest and the other hand on top with the fingers wrapped around those of the first hands. 2. Then perform 30 compressions on the victim. To do this you must straighten your arms and put your full body weight into forcing their chest down around one-third of the way. These should be performed at a rate of around 100 per minute. NOTE: If the victim is a child then the compressions do not need to go as far, compared to an adult. 3. After each 30 compressions you must tilt the head back and lift up the chin to open the airway. 4. Pinch the victims nose closed, take a normal breath, and cover the victims mouth with yours, blowing out your breath until you see their chest rise. Then repeat this procedure. If the chest isn't rising then you must open the airway again. 5. Repeat the previous four steps over and over again until the victim starts breathing again, or someone who is more physically able than you takes over your position. |
